My eyes opened, scanning the room
I see nothing but pure darkness
I sit up, frozen with fear
I say hello, hoping to hear an answer
But I hear nothing
I stand up, say hello once again
But yet, I hear nothing
I start to run, not knowing where I’m going
No matter where I ran, darkness still surrounded me
I stopped, tired from all the running
Then in the distance, I see light
It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen
I start to run towards it, but it gets smaller as I go
I start to run faster, hoping to catch it
Yet it still continues to shrink
One step, two step, and then it’s gone
I fall to my knees, tears streaming down my cheeks
It’s too late; I’m once again surrounded with darkness
My eternal darkness
